The complaint by a few students who studied for a diploma in Computer-Based Accountancy at AMA Computer Learning Center (ACLC) Bacolod City that the course was not accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) proved to be baseless when Victor Sevilla, VP for ACLC Franchise Operations, showed the Registration Certificate issued by TESDA authorizing ACLC Bacolod to offer the two-year Computer-Based Accountancy diploma course since 2002. While it is true the school closed down in December 2010, all the papers of the students were sent to the ACLC head office in Quezon City and arrangements were made to give these to the students after they graduated in May 2010. Unfortunately, Sevilla said, because the ACLC Bacolod franchise was closing down, the required documents for the processing of these students’ credentials were not submitted on time. Sevilla also clarified that sending the papers of graduating students to the head office is the standard procedure of AMA Education System (AMAES) for all its schools, even for franchise schools like ACLC Bacolod, since they have a centralized system for giving out the diploma, transcripts and all the necessary papers for each student upon graduation. | ||||||||||||||
